The heavy sniper rifle first appeared in the Save the World mode of Fortnite, where it is known as the Obliterator. The gun was later imported into the game's 100 player Battle Royale mode in August of 2018, as a high power, anti-structure weapon where it was named: Heavy Sniper Rifle.
