My top 5 tips for handling stress over the holidays are as follows:
1. Move your body - even a quick stretch interlude will do. Movement pulls us out of our head and into our bodies, allowing us the see, hear, feel and breathe the present moment only.
2. Meditate - anything that lets you catch a breath and hold your thoughts suspended in time will stop them from spiralling out of control and getting you all worked up.
3. Do as you go - check your list in the morning and then get on with your day and take it one step/task at a time. Let your life unfold and do the best you can in the moment in front of you. Everything is unfolding accordingly
4. Stay human -- don't let the stress of game keep you from having fun, that goes for anything in life. Christmas is a time to be light hearted, loving and sparkly. Stay light, do things that make you human, instead of counting hours or day, count loved ones and blessings. Take a moment to feel all the love in your life before getting back to the grind and new year prep.
5. Don't try to do it all yourself -- ask your siblings to go in on gifts together, delegate to a coworker when they offer to help, collaborate with people if it means expanding your overall capabilities. Wrap gifts with friends.
These are the GYST tips I'm implementing this holiday season to keep the stress at bay and the joy in the air.
I hope your holiday season is as magical as you are.
love you around the moon and back
