At the end of 2017, some fragments of the songs that would be part of Drake's fifth album were leaked. Rumors also had it that the artist would collaborate with others rappers. This created a lot of expectations around his upcoming songs. But what happened in his life during 2018? What achievements and controversies revolved around this Canadian singer? "God's Plan" was number 1 in digital sales by the end of January, with a total of 127,000 downloads. On February 3 this song was placed in the first position of the Hot R&B;/Hip-Hop Songs list and in Hot Rap Songs lists, staying this way for 11 weeks. Rumor that the Canadian admitted some time later, when he said in the song "Emotionless": "I wasn't hidin' my kid from the world/ I was hidin' the world from my kid". However, it's throughout the song "March 14" he talks openly about his role as a father and how difficult the situation is. There he also talks about how he used to challenge his parents in his previous albums and now he's ashamed of admitting that things didn't go as he wanted. The baby's name is Adonis Graham and was the product of his fleeting relationship with the French model Sophie Brussaux. In fact, in "March 14" he says: "Shit, we only met two times, two times / And both times were nothin' like the new times".
"Duppy Freestyle", on its part, is a diss track. In it you can hear how Drake implies that he wrote some lyrics for Kanye West in Wyoming. Work he did as a ghost songwriter.
In this track he also questions Pusha-T's reach, and reminds him of the criminal record of his brother No Malice. As evidence of what he said, Drake posted on Instagram the invoice under his OVO SOUND seal for the services rendered. The song was uploaded to Drake's label channel and it currently has more than 11 million reproductions
