Sleepwalking, formally known as somnambulism or noctambulism, is a phenomenon in which the sleepers brain hovers in a limbo between full REM sleep and consciousness. Sleepwalking can be caused by a variety of factors such as; sleep disorders, mental disorders, medications and even general stress. The results of sleepwalking vary from patient to patient. Some perform simple tasks such as sending e-mails or writing letters. Others perform more complex tasks like driving.
