Maybe its a little OVER-SPRUNG, but by the end of this install - so was I! hah. To answer your question - 3 Cans of Yellow, and One can of Black. I should have used 5 cans of Yellow.. a lesson that I learned too late. But, overall.. the new body looks FANTASTIC! But FIRST - I want to go over some points on the truck that could use some extra attention (now that I have had the truck for several months), and some of the changes I am making. Mostly, Im going crazy and installing 8 Shocks.. just for the hell of it. This truck was based off of the original Tamiya Clodbuster ( I know, it was an MOA and a Chevy), but overall the square chassis and links.. with the Double Shocks .. I think it brings a whole new look to the "MONSTER TRUCK" vibe. These shocks were super simple to install.. and although they might turn out to be "too bouncy", or too stiff... I think even in the short-term.. its pretty fun to look at.
I was told by some more experienced people that I would have to remove the springs from the outer-most shocks .. for the best performance of a dual shock setup.. LET THE EXPERIMENTATION BEGIN!
Now.. of course, I wanted a new look for this epic setup.. so the only choice was to order a new body (in clear) and cage - and paint it up a Nice BRIGHT COLOR! Yellow was an obvious choice! I couple of RED Bead Lock Rings for the wheels/tires.. and it looks fantastic.. READY FOR the MONSTER JAM!
